Reid and I have been instructors and audio engineers at Stage Volume Entertainment for several years (shout out to Tim). After finishing lessons, we would often get into long conversations while shutting down the store. Since both of us have dedicated our lives to teaching, studying, writing, gigging and performing music, there were consistent topics that came up. What we've been working on, what gigs we had that week, frustrations of this and that, successes that we've had, etc.
After him telling me about beats he'd been creating, he emailed me a couple of them. During the beginning of the COVID-19 quarantine, I wrote lyrics to his instrumental entitled "30 Minute Meltdown." Using the title as a guide for content, this song almost wrote itself. At the time, I'd been cooped up for months. Guess I needed to release some frustration?
